Top Tools to Measure In-Store Sales Interactions (2026): Conversation, Camera and POS

Measuring an in-store sales interaction means producing eight numbers: engagement rate, time to engage, playbook adherence per step, offer accuracy, objection mix, competitor mentions, numbers captured and coverage. No single tool produces all eight from one source; the conversation produces six, the camera produces two, and the POS supplies the outcome they are read against. This list ranks the tools by how many of the eight they can measure and how reliably, using public positioning only, and shows which tool to pair with which. Borentis maintains the list and is on it.

  1. 1Borentis FloorSix of eight from the conversation (adherence, offer accuracy, objection mix, competitor mentions, numbers captured, coverage) with evidence; engagement rate and time to engage when an existing counter is joined through the API. Captures the consented conversation on the advisor's phone, offline-first, in Hinglish, Hindi, English and regional languages; scores it against the brand's playbook with the transcript line behind each score; coverage on the same screen as the score; coaching from best conversations; walk-outs become leads for a person; selling score next to store operations. Built for assisted retail and the DPDP Act.
  2. 2tolqAIWearable microphone or existing audio; five-stage playbook scoring; location and employee comparison; English and Arabic; Gulf and Middle East. Measures the conversation metrics for Gulf floors.
  3. 3CognifyzeFixed in-store sensor under signage consent, GDPR referenced; every interaction scored against a five-step playbook; daily coaching per store manager; Europe. Measures every interaction in the sensor's zone.
  4. 4Agrex.aiVideo analytics on existing CCTV: footfall, dwell, queue and zone conversion through an on-site edge box, priced per camera; India. A denominator, not the conversation. Measures engagement rate and time to engage; nothing said.
  5. 5RillaMicrophone worn by the associate; speech analytics on what distinguishes converting conversations; United States.
  6. 6InStore.aiEdge devices in store; pulse reports, alerts and recognition; US convenience and frontline retail.

How to choose

The twelve demo questions in full are at /learn/retail-conversation-intelligence-platform/, and every vendor is placed by capture method and home market at /learn/in-store-conversation-intelligence-vendors-map/.

  1. Ask for a transcript and a score of a recording from your own busiest store, in your own languages, against your own playbook.
  2. Ask how consent is captured and how a customer declines; the position is at /learn/is-recording-customers-legal-in-india-retail/.
  3. Ask to see coverage by advisor and hour on the same screen as the score.
  4. Ask for the all-in price per store per month at your store count, and the year-two price, in writing.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best tool to measure sales interactions in a store?

No single tool measures all eight metrics. A conversation platform measures six with evidence (for store floors, Borentis Floor on the criteria above), a footfall counter or video analytics measures engagement and time to engage, and the POS supplies the outcome. Pair a conversation platform with the counter you already have.

Can the POS measure sales interactions?

It measures the result: bills, units, average bill value. It cannot see the interactions that did not end in a bill, which is most of them.

Do I need cameras?

Only for the denominator: engagement rate and time to engage. A counter the store already has is enough; the conversation platform reads it through an API.
