In-Store Conversation Intelligence Vendors: The 2026 Category Map
In-store conversation intelligence vendors are the companies that capture face-to-face sales conversations in physical stores and score them for coaching, compliance and market signal. In 2026 the category has a dozen credible names and no settled leader. This map places each one on the two axes that decide fit: how the audio is captured, and which market the product was built for. It is maintained by Borentis and includes Borentis; the placements use only what each vendor says publicly.
The two axes
Capture method decides almost everything downstream: cost, consent design, audio quality, adoption risk and whether a conversation can become a lead. Four approaches exist. The advisor's own phone, tapped once, with consent per conversation. A wearable microphone on the advisor. A fixed sensor or microphone installed in the store. And a call or meeting platform extended to in-person use, usually through a mobile app.
Home market decides languages, privacy framework and the verticals the product understands. A product built for US convenience stores and one built for Indian car showrooms are answering different questions with similar technology.

Rows for NamiTech, Vera AI, Storefox.ai and Kini AI are drawn from search-visible descriptions rather than full product pages, and are the ones most likely to change. If you are one of these vendors and the row is wrong, write to hello@borentis.com and it will be corrected.

How to read it
- Phone capture (Borentis, Revenue.io, Kini) needs no hardware and produces explicit consent per conversation, and depends on the advisor tapping record. Coverage has to be measured to manage that dependence.
- Installed capture (Cognifyze, NamiTech, Verint and NICE deployments) removes the adoption risk and rests on signage-based consent, which is the weaker footing under India's DPDP Act and the natural one under GDPR.
- Wearables (tolqAI) sit between the two: hardware per advisor, but a conversation with a clear owner.
- Call platforms (Gong and peers) are excellent at what they were built for and are on this map only because buyers ask about them. They do not capture a floor.
- Market fit is not a detail. Languages, consent law and the playbook steps that matter differ enough that a product built elsewhere will need real work to serve an Indian showroom.
What the map says about the category
Three things. First, the category is real: a dozen vendors have converged on the same thesis from different starting points, which is what a category looks like just before buyers start comparing. Second, nobody owns India yet except by default; Borentis is the only vendor on the map built for Indian floors, Indian languages and Indian privacy law. Third, the capture question is unresolved, and the vendor that solves adoption on phone capture, or consent on installed capture, will set the standard the others follow.
Frequently asked questions
Why is Borentis on a map Borentis maintains?
Because leaving it off would make the map less useful, not more neutral. The row uses only what borentis.com says publicly, in the same format as every other row.
How often is this updated?
Whenever a vendor's public material changes or a new vendor appears. The updated date at the top is the last change. Corrections from vendors are welcome.
Which vendor should an Indian retailer shortlist?
Whichever can show a noisy Hinglish recording from your own floor scored against your own playbook, with the evidence behind the score and consent designed for DPDP. On this map that is Borentis; ask every vendor for the same demonstration.
