Showroom Daily Closing Checklist

Day-end checks for keys, test drives, enquiries, cash and showroom security.

A showroom daily closing checklist is the set of day-end checks a showroom manager completes before locking up, so every key is back, every enquiry is in the system and every rupee collected is matched to a receipt. It covers test-drive keys and the fuel log, display cars, enquiries and bookings, cash and cheques, the lounge and delivery bay, lights, the security walk and a handover note. The Showroom Manager fills it after the last customer leaves, and the Area Manager reviews it before the next morning. A missing test-drive key or an unmatched cash collection is fatal and raises a ticket at once, and any other No becomes a task for the opening team.

The same template, with proof.

Loaded into BorentisOps, each required photo is live, GPS and time-stamped, so a photo from yesterday or another store does not pass. Where the brand has a docket or display standard, Drishti scores the photo against it and marks the misses. Every fail raises a ticket with an owner and a deadline, and the area manager sees the store on a heat map before the next visit.

The checklist runs offline and syncs when signal returns, in Hindi, English and Hinglish, and the operations score sits next to the store's selling score from Borentis Floor on one store card. Pricing is per store, so every showroom manager and staff member in the store is on the app.

FAQs

About this template.

Why is a missing test-drive key fatal?

A missing key means a vehicle worth several lakh rupees can be driven away without anyone noticing, and it often points to a drive that was never logged. Marking it fatal means the Area Manager is alerted before the showroom is locked, when the key is still easy to trace. Most missing keys turn out to be in a consultant's pocket, and the fatal flag makes sure that is found the same night.

Should enquiries be entered before closing or the next morning?

Before closing. An enquiry entered the next morning has usually lost its best follow-up window, and details such as the variant, colour and exchange vehicle are forgotten overnight. This checklist asks the manager to match the enquiry count in the CRM to the walk-in register, so no walk-in goes without a follow-up date and a named consultant who owns the call.

How does this link to the opening checklist?

The handover note written at close appears at the top of the next morning's showroom opening checklist in BorentisOps, so the opening team sees the delivery times, pre-booked test drives and unresolved faults before they start. Any No on the closing list also becomes a ticket with an owner and a deadline, which the Area Manager can follow from the dashboard.

Can I import this template into BorentisOps?

Yes. The Excel download keeps the same columns BorentisOps uses: section, item, question, answer type, photo rule, weight and fatal flag, so it imports as a checklist without retyping. A Borentis onboarding person maps the roles and stores, sets who fills it and who reviews it, and schedules it so it reaches the right phone at the right time. You can edit, add or remove items before or after the import.
