Showroom Daily Opening Checklist

Morning checks for car and two-wheeler showrooms, from forecourt to test drives.

A showroom daily opening checklist is the set of morning checks a showroom manager completes before the first customer arrives, so display cars are clean and priced, test-drive vehicles are ready and legal, and the lounge and delivery bay look the part. It covers the facade and forecourt, display cars, test drives, accessories wall, customer lounge, delivery bay, sales desk, grooming and safety. The Showroom Manager fills it on the phone before opening, with live photos stamped with GPS and time, and the Area Manager reviews it the same morning. Any No raises a ticket with an owner and a deadline. Invalid test-drive papers or a blocked fire exit are fatal and escalate at once.

Free. No form. The workbook has the same columns as the table below, with the score formula and a fatal-item check in place.

The same template, with proof.

Loaded into BorentisOps, each required photo is live, GPS and time-stamped, so a photo from yesterday or another store does not pass. Where the brand has a docket or display standard, Drishti scores the photo against it and marks the misses. Every fail raises a ticket with an owner and a deadline, and the area manager sees the store on a heat map before the next visit.

The checklist runs offline and syncs when signal returns, in Hindi, English and Hinglish, and the operations score sits next to the store's selling score from Borentis Floor on one store card. Pricing is per store, so every showroom manager and staff member in the store is on the app.

FAQs

About this template.

Why are test-drive papers a fatal item?

A test-drive vehicle out on the road with expired insurance or PUC is a legal and financial risk for the dealership, and an accident on such a drive is the kind of event no display score can make up for. Marking it fatal means the vehicle is pulled from test drives and the Area Manager is alerted the moment the item fails, until valid papers are back in the glovebox.

How long does the showroom opening checklist take?

About 20 minutes for one person with a phone, most of it spent walking the display cars and the test-drive line. Showrooms that open at 9:30 usually start at 9:00. On weekends and during Navratri or Diwali, when deliveries are heavy, it helps to fill the delivery bay and workshop items first, so the service team has time to fix anything before the first family arrives for a handover.

Does it work for two-wheeler showrooms too?

Yes. The sections are the same, and a two-wheeler showroom simply marks items that do not apply as N/A, which removes them from the score. Many two-wheeler brands add a helmet and riding gear check to the test-drive section, and a line for the demo scooters on charge. Both are easy to add before import, and the scoring adjusts to the new weights.

Can I import this template into BorentisOps?

Yes. The Excel download keeps the same columns BorentisOps uses: section, item, question, answer type, photo rule, weight and fatal flag, so it imports as a checklist without retyping. A Borentis onboarding person maps the roles and stores, sets who fills it and who reviews it, and schedules it so it reaches the right phone at the right time. You can edit, add or remove items before or after the import.
